What is a Carbon Negative Website?

CarbonNegative is a unique initiative by Webdesign Warehouse. Often providers in all industries are eager to tell you how they are minimizing their impact on the environment. We think that this is not good enough. Reducing negative impact is not the same as making a positive change. Its in the same vein as choosing not to litter as opposed to picking litter up.

As such we calculate the amount of carbon produced by our labors and offset, via donations to Community Upliftment Programmes that help underprivileged local communities live a better life using sustainable technologies. this can be in the form of Solar Powered homes in rural areas, or greener and safer forms of cooking (wood burning is very damaging and paraffin cooking has taken many lives.)

We also personally reduce our carbon footprint by working remotely from our own homes, maintaining a paperless office without printers, and recycling what little paper we do use.

We further hope to also partner with Guerrillas Gone Green in one of their Big Clean Ups (pics).

We are also in the process of building WeDoGood, a social network focussed on highlighting good positive actions by people, companies and charities, and to enable a greater interaction between all to facilitate holistic and sustainable partnerships.
