Magical Moments

We create Magical Moments“Extra-ordinary days” for abandoned, abused, disadvantaged, neglected, orphaned, underprivileged and vulnerable children in the greater Johannesburg area – of all cultures, colours, race and religions – “rainbow children”.  We are not restricted to supporting any one particular organisation; we go where the children are, wherever a Magical Moment is needed, focusing predominantly on children aged 2-12 years.

While we understand the desperate need for basic essentials such as food, education and shelter, we have focused “on the moment”, so to speak. To take light where there is darkness. To take love and laughter, fun and happiness, smiles and playfulness and just perhaps to create an “Extra-ordinary Day” – a day different from yesterday and different from tomorrow – an escape and distraction from the every day harsh realities of life. Children need to be children.

Our priority would be a “collective” website for Lulamani, Ebhuleni, Ithemba, Word in Motion etc. and a few other of our beneficiaries so that when there is outreach or initiatives like 67 Madiba Minutes, that these organisations also get reached, not just the big ones who have huge media exposure. These children in their care are in as much need, their care givers too who live on pittance.

The Upliftment Programme

Giggles and Gratitude to you for taking the time to see what’s UP?…

UPlifting the corners of all mouths – is our motto. Laughter, giggles, smiles, all the positive healing energy that can UPlift us all, it’s our aim to inspire the growth of these UPlifting emotions and live as a more JOY full humankind. When we make the time to UPlift others, we UPlift ourselves…

Our core focus is Care Clowning and community JOY, we train UP volunteers, who commit to weekly or monthly UPlifting of the children or seniors in their local institution, hospital or orphanage. We train volunteer Care Clowns to UPlift with joy sharing and empathic care, these volunteers bring socio-emotional sUPport to those most in need and in turn change their own lives for GOOD.

YIPEEE!!! If you’d like to sUPport us, become an *Agent of Joy* – give a little of your time become a Care Clown or donate a little cash by clicking donate.

Bliss is the gift you receive when you share joy with another”

Moments in Time

The common thread uniting the 13 calendar ambassadors included in the 2010 calendar is their attitude to the ensuing challenges that accompany cancer in all its guises. They are inspiring people with a strong will to conquer their own personal battle with the disease. In spite of their pain and apparent loss, these are people who continue to say “yes” to life.

The calendar is a visual representation of the “fruits of the human spirit”, and aims to capture, through the lens of a camera: “hope in the face of despair”, “passion in the face of pain”, “joy in the face of sadness” and “power in the face of vulnerability”.

The project’s first dimension is clearly the person living with cancer and the journey they’ve traversed. The existential philosophy of Viktor Frankl and the concept of “meaning in life” form the second dimension. Third, is the successful styling and composition of the photography to accurately and artistically reflect the first and second dimensions. The fourth dimension – and this year’s project theme – reflects the power of healing that translates in different ways for each patient.

Although every picture tells a story, a short but profound narrative accompanies each photo, thereby enriching the page.
